Traditional uses of Sonth

In Pakistani homes, Sonth is commonly used in these ways:

• Used in winter panjiri, pinni and laddu
• Added to qehwa and tea in cold weather
• Used in the tradition for heaviness and gas in the stomach
• Part of many traditional joint care mixes

How people commonly use it

Grind into powder and use a pinch in tea, or add to sweets and masala. Half a teaspoon is a common daily amount.
