Amla, also called Indian gooseberry, is one of the most loved fruits in desi and Unani tradition. We dry the fruit and grind it into a fine, light brown powder that is easy to use at home.

In desi and Unani tradition, Amla Powder has been used in these ways:

• Mixed in hair masks with water or yogurt in traditional hair care
• Taken in small amounts with water or honey as a general wellness habit
• A main part of the classic Triphala mix
• Known as a natural source of vitamin C

How people commonly use it

For hair, people mix 2 to 3 spoons with water or yogurt and apply for 30 minutes before washing. As a food habit, a small amount (about half a teaspoon) is usually taken with water or honey.
